Before you make that last transition through the wash and come back up that small hill, right when you can start to see chilitown, there was actually a decent sized group camped off the trail to the left.
It's only a matter of time until others "discover" it.

Also agreed, we can't prove it, but at least make them aware so in the future this doesn't happen.

 

well I think we can all agree that even if it was them they wouldn't come forward and own it or anything. People like to hide...still wanna know who the fuck thought it was cool to tag a rock...smh

 

oh really? someone is going back to clean up the rock? hmmm we'll see

 

I hope they bring attention to it. Even if they claim it was all from their next trip, at least make some of these new "overlanders" aware that you clean up and pack out everything you brought in. Tread lightly.

 

We were at minimum 100m off from the edge of camp to the NE shooting. I didn’t even think to look for brass when I was there the other day. Had my eyes set on trash... mostly looking for plastics and non degradable type (which would include brass casings). When we head out NYE I’ll make a solid sweep for more...

Did everyone forget about the people posing on the rocks or just focusing on the brass and painted rock?

 

idk i think defacing a rock with spray paint on a trail is worse than posing

 

You guys pick up your brass? I always leave it for the next guy.

 

Doing anything to fuck up nature is wrong but yes spray painting a rock is just bullshit. Back in my day we would only write on walls in rival neighborhoods

 

i don't blame you, its great when we just have our crew of friends go out there, but yeah the annual chili thing was too big last year

Small groups are always better ... never been to this Chilitown you guys speak of but maybe one day I’ll make it out there , seems like everyone had a blast

 

The area needs another chilitown event. This area is not that hidden. Anybody could have left that mess.

 

I don’t know when my next run will be. Waiting for a phone call maybe in the next few months and if everything is as it seems will be moving to AZ.

 

It's a cool spot. Plenty of space and nice and flat.
