So in the old BMW world we would add a painted black "cross hair " pattern to in the inside of the high beam housing. It would then reflect the black off of the high beam chrome housing and give the appearance of a blacked out headlight. I'm looking at some of the bhlm on the Tacomas and I see where the high beam portion is still very much chrome. My idea would be to add a set of black "crosshairs" to the high beam only part of the headlight to give us a more blacked out look. As you can see in the pic below that is a chromed high beam housing with a black cross pattern to mimic the look of a blacked out housing.

What do you mean "reflects the black cross hair"? Like puts an X on the ground with the light?

You can add a painted "cross hair" into the housing and the black reflects off of the chrome so that headlight housing appears blacked out but the light output is still there.

The headlight housing of the BMW is reflective; like a big chrome cup. That crosshair in the headlight is black. The reflective portion of the headlight now appears black because it is a mirror.

The crosshair in the BMW headlight is nothing more than 2 pieces of black plastic.

With that said, I don't think it would be possible on our headlights. It would be easier to do a BHLM mod.

Yes! You would still paint the housing black but in the small area for the high beam where you can't paint the chrome to allow the high beam to still work properly, you can do this to truly have a blacked out headlight
