I probably couldn’t have done a worse job installing this if I tried. Now I need a new gasket (you can see the whole thing). Anyone know what I’m looking for? Something from Lowe’s? Or another way to fix this that works better? I don’t see how that thing could fit without being visible but I’ll give it another shot.

@KB Voodoo would something similar to the above product at lowe's work with your cap?

Any 1/4" x 3/4" wide gasket will work. The more firm the better.

I never realized how cheesy the stock ones look until I saw the ones by KB Voodoo. I definitely don’t “need” them, plastic does its job, but will be getting them!

I am interested in a tailgate cap from KB Voodoo, but wondered how durable that gasket material would be over time. Especially in rough weather and trail riding. Didn’t know if it would trap stuff up between the cap and tailgate. Any experience??

We've been selling them for about four years now. Haven't heard of any issues with the gasket.

It is really solid, I’d highly recommend.

As for the gasket, get it right the first time, because it took about an hour and a bottle of Goo Gone to remove.
