Hey strangers

So my left rear blinker is out. Swapped the bulb and it still doesn’t work. Right blinker is fine. Checked my new bulbs on the right side and it worked. Even stuck the bulb that was on he right side into the left side and nothing . All the other lights on the left side work (taillight and reverse light). I’m guessing bad female port on that blinker is that a thing?

Yes, it is fast though. The clicking noise inside the cab (with the dash signal) is fast too. Like it’s supposed to do when a bulb goes bad

 

Idk if the whole light plugs are the same buy try swapping the whole housing.

Swap the whole housing to the other side, not just the bulb. Just note the plugs might be different and might not plugin.

 

you may need to test the socket and then the connector to the tail light with a meter or test light, then chase the wiring back up the frame. A bad socket or connector isn't unreasonable

When you say whole housing...you mean

This sounds like it might be too advanced for my basic understanding of mechanics. The right pedal makes it go. The left pedal makes it stop

The entire Taillight

 

They aren’t interchangeable are they? Aren’t they cut to fit one side or the other?

Even if I swapped the housing, the sockets are wired to that side so the bad socket (assuming that’s the issue) would still be on the left

 

Don't try to install the tailight, just leave it sit on the tailgate and plug it into the other side. That will narrow it down to the wiring or the taillight housing being the problem.

 

I’ll mess with it tomorrow. Maybe it will make more sense when I’m looking at it

When you take your tail lights off there is the big plug down at the bottom that unplugs the whole thing. The wires attached to the taillight are removable off the taillight and swapable between taillights this is a sub-harness attached to the taillights. What @Sandman614 is trying to get you to do is to take the one good taillight and plug it into the bad side. This will test the sub harness of the taillight. If it still doesn't work then you know you'll have to go chasing wires throughout the circuit. If I were a betting man if you unplug the socket on the taillight to that turn signal and that big plug to the whole taillight as well as the socket to the plug there is probably some corrosion in those connectors causing the issue. If there is corrosion take some Coke-Cola and pour it in the connectors, rinse and repeat until you don't see any more nastyness. Also check the connector from the subharness to the bulb socket.

 

The tow probably cost more than truck is worth

 

Must have been the only tow truck they had avail. at the time lost money on that one!

 

Haven't gotten back out to look at the light yet but while I'm thinking about it...

My low air pressure light is flashing. I've already checked all the tires (and spare) and they are fine so looks like I have a bad sensor. How hard is it to replace those?

 

You have to deflate the tire once you figure out which one is bad then break the bead of the tire off of the wheel. Then push the bead down far enough to sneak the sensor out. Then reinflate the tire making sure you have enough air pressure to seat the bead again. If you are asking take it to a shop. Breaking a tire bead without a tire machine cane be a big time PITA! Trust me on this one.
