2nd gens do it too. I think just in 2nd gear though. Don't think I've noticed it in 4-Lo while off-road though.

Could be... I can tell you though, that in the 3rd gen V6 it's dependent on RPM and not the gear/ T-case range you're in (I realize these are related to each other).

If any of you MT guys/gals are in the market for mats, I just picked up some front Husky floormats on Amazon, which had restocked a pair of open-box returned mats because someone with an auto ordered the MT mats which are slightly different. $65 shipped.

Edit--> Whoops the intent here was to say they were available on amazon, not that I was selling them. Sorry!

Please forgive me if I am missing something. Do you have the mats for sale or are you saying jump on Amazon to grab them. Either way I’m in.
    Thank you!

PS. I didn’t see them on amazon but I didn’t look to hard.

I believe that he is saying he has them for sale. But here they are on Amazon regardless. I had a set of Husky's in my SHO and would highly recommend them.

My bad I meant that they were on Amazon and to go look... I just checked now and there are no returns left. But they pop up often so check back. I hesitate to say this for fear of being flamed by all y'all's wives for providing irresistible means to spend more money on TW mods from Amazon, but you can <whispering> install keepa.com browser addon that monitors Amazon product prices. </whispering>

I hesitate to ask this question, because it's probably "a normal characteristic" of the truck, but I've never experienced this in any of my other manual transmission vehicles:

Shifting through the first four gears is normal, but when shifting from fourth to fifth I feel a thump, for lack of a better word, upon releasing the clutch. I don't hear anything, but I definitely feel it. Shifting from fifth to sixth is normal again. Maybe it's just that fifth is more of an overdrive gear...?

    What say you?

Yeah, that thump sucks. I'm assuming the rpm's aren't matching up.

Ya, I know the *thunk* of which your speak. It's sporatic, usually at low RPMs into 5 and the very odd time 6. If your at low RPM and go to 5, just feather it a tad more than at higher RPM. I find it happens to me when I'm driving lazy.

I shift from 4th to 6th 95% of the time so I have never noticed any thump.

I've noticed the same thing shifting into fifth. Either it's gotten less over time or I've just adapted, just rolled over 12k last month.

Has anyone experienced a "slipping" when shifting into higher gears? My 4cyl 5spd 2011 reg cab does this weird thing where mostly shifting into 4th gear, the rpms increase slightly and then drop to the appropriate rpms for my speed. This happens immediately after shifting and letting the clutch pedal all the way out. Sometimes my foot can be on the foot rest by the time the rpms settle down so I know it's not me. The clutch should be completely engaged.

It feels like a slip to me. But it only does it in higher gears where I am no longer applying much power. I would imagine this would happen in lower gears where more power is applied.

I don't notice any other slipping or odd behavior besides my 5th gear thunk as mentioned in my post above.

Is a TRD OR Access Cab 6MT available in CA? It seems like that what I have read in this thread. Must be a DCAB for OR 6 MT in the USA. Asking for a friend... ;-)

No OR Manual Access Cab available in 3rd Gen, have to go with SR or Sport unless you live in Canada.

I haven't noticed this after 6k miles. I don't throttle into 5th or 6th usually, being that they are o/d gears. I get going the speed I want to cruise in 4th and then shift into 5th or 6th (often skip 5th if speed limit 55+). I wonder if you are throttling in 5th or 6th, trying to accelerate too aggressively against an o/d gear. Try clutching only without using additional throttle.

That's worth a shot. Been driving manuals for 30 years, including delivery trucks, and I can't say I've felt anything like this before. Not really worried about... just find it odd.

I hear ya. I'm right there with ya. My first had 2 sticks and only 4 gears. No o/d. Not to mention manual hub locks
