Dude that thing turned out nice! That's exactly what I am talking about...would love to build stuff like that if I had the tools. Oh well, I got a buddy who knows his stuff though which I got some ideas he might be able to help me out with sometime next year if his schedule permits!

Thanks lol. They will be changed out soon unfortunately. I got these tires before I found out I was moving to Montana and they don't do so well in the snow.

Just a quick update...the 4:56 gears are installed along with the ECGS needle bearing in the front which I will be picking up tomorrow. I did order new spring perches and a new U-bolt for my current TC SUA rear kit that I will be looking to take off in a month or two if anyone is interested so that the kit will be ready to be installed on someone else's rig if they want a solid mid travel rear that can yield anywhere from 9.5-12 inches of travel depending on shock relocation.

Well guys, I am about 220 miles into my break in with the new gears. I remember this being a chore on my first gen back in the day...thinking I am going to go and cruise around for a while after work with calculated stops to keep the rear transmission cool.

I plan to pick up a spare tire today so that I can mount my 5th ray10! Since Christmas hooked me up with some funds I am bought a few new items in the attempt to get my truck feeling more like stock with the new dirties...
    • Hypertech 730117 speedometer calibration for 2012-2015 Tacomas
    • TC Coil Bucket Gussets
    • Stop Tech 6 piston Big brake kit in their custom BLUE Color!
I got a plan in regards to getting the rear LT installed sometime in the middle to late February. I am still waiting on an estimate for the rear to get installed although I plan for it to cost quite a pretty penny.

After I get all this stuff installed in the next few months I can look forward to some wet okole seat covers!

I hope everyone had a great holiday and got some fun things/projects to look forward to in the new year!

I already got a kryptonite cable I use from time to time for my mountain bikes with the new York company Fuggedaboutit lock that is crazy strong. I figure I would just loop that into the D rings. I might need to find some padding for the cable where it goes into the rim though.

Bro! Yes & No. Yes I am technically in Texas but I am in the absolute most southern part/tip by Mexico. I am technically a Texican :D . From Dallas it would be about a 12 hour drive south or a 3 hour flight.

    A thing or two...
    Very nice.

What size rotor did you go with on the big brake kit? Did you order it from SOS performance?

Yea I ordered from SOS performance. I believe they still have their prices up for the 6 piston kit, but they said even if it expires they would honor the deal so I couldn't say no. I wanted to figure out if the rear brake was worth it, and after talking with SOS they said I would see a slight difference in the rear if I went to disc. Their thought was that many guys go disc for ease of maintenance although you go through pads quicker and the bling factor to an extent.

SOS explained that the 6 piston kit was designed for the racer crowd and guys with heavy loads like armor and heavy tires. Originally I wanted to go with the 4 piston kit with the rear disc, but they told me that going with just a front 6 piston kit would be better than both of those combined and recommended for my application to only get the front kit.

BTW, thanks man for your inspiration on the speedometer calibration kit. I think with the gears, brakes, and speedo kit my truck should feel closer to stock spec with the dirties and extra weight on it.

B(Vel)Vita! I do agree you may not need the 6 piston, but I bet the four piston would be a much worthy addition! I got full skids, front and rear bumpers, sliders, and dirties which make my ride a crazy tank ass. My brakes still work solid, but they arnt as snappy as when the truck was stock.

Oh definitely, it would be unnecessary for me. I figure just a set of pads/rotors/and lines would do the job perfectly when I go up to 285’s and skids.

But damn they look the part haha, I was actually looking into Wilwood’s new kit since they just released it recently
