In my defense, I did offer you the choice of letting me drive or fly the drone.

Brian’s just a little wearing that his truck will actually look fast if I drive it again. :boink::duel:

Don’t those drones have a follow me feature? Or just hit that section over Multiple times. Be cool if you made an amateur version of this video where the drone pops up and follows as the vehicle passes by. Sometimes filming does take the fun out of wheeling though.

@desertjunkie760 is more than welcome to drive my truck again. Just not through that whoop section wear we damn near caught full air  and I'll ride shotgun with you too. Soon we'll go back and get lots of footage.
Trail limos are not built for speed haha. It's a #broverland vehicle  you can definitely drive it again though. Filming while riding passenger was a lot of fun

There's 2 different "follow me" functions. But both are kind of gimmicky. One method tracks a subject/vehicle but it loses it very frequently. If we have a big open space I'd try it again though. The second follow me, follows the controller and The pilot controls where the drone is viewing, if that makes sense. I'm still learning to fly it better and smoother, which is the hardest part - being able to turn the drone and keep the video smooth and not jerky.

The key is ALMOST and we drove away in style. I’d say it was a success. Bumpy one, but still successful. :D:laugh:

I am learning the more I hit the desert that the rear of our truck lag tremendously when it comes to speed. The Dakars aren’t great for rebound and the shocks are limited with the mounting location. Once I land another stable job I am going to spend a good amount of time working on the rear suspension and see what I can figure out.

That or just learn how to drive... :anonymous:

The problem was we were heading to a destination and just happened to hit this section as the last vehicle. It would have been cool to go back, scope it out, and hit it again for the footage but we would have had to stop a 8 vehicle convoy trying to beat the darkness to camp.

I had a feeling some skill is involved. Almost like the flyer needs to be outside the vehicle. So pretty much need to run the path a few times just to get the right shot. Only problem it’s boring stuff because all the down time and organization.

The gimbal makes it smooth and easy for the most part. The hardest part is when you, idk the proper wording, but I guess "rotate" the drones angle. I think I just need to adjust the stick settings to make it "rotate" slower which in turn will make for a smoother shot. While riding passenger I was able to film relatively well, just lost it as soon as we hit that whooped section. I just need to fly it more is what it comes down to. I can easily out run the trucks to setup for a shot with the drone I just need to try and predict better/cooler shot angles on the fly (pun intended)

You know you want to! Maybe we can get the same and ask for a buy 1 get 1 free haha

That's way overkill, but would be pretty sweet!

All spring rates man, you can bump up the spring rate to hold more weight.

Trying to pan the camera is pretty hard stuff to do. Looking forward to more practice down the road.

You ever look into getting the glasses to see what you are filming or is that available on the model drone you have ?

Get your damn truck fixed so we can go out and I can film you doing cool shit like this! I wanna do a day shoot with you and @Airdog and @Yotamac since you three are the only ones who's trucks I know can do a lot of go fast shit. I'll watch some more of these videos and get ideas for shot angles. Maybe after Christmas we can do a day run somewhere and get a lot of footage
