Anyone picked one of these up yet for their Taco? The first aftermarket head unit to support wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity.

If you have a new iPhone capable of wireless charging, how cool would it be to drop the phone on the Qi pad and charge it while it wirelessly connects to CarPlay on the head unit. The dream has just become a reality!

You still need to connect lightning to the iPhone to use CarPlay.

I picked up an ILX-107 and installed it into my SR. Pulled out the basic entune radio which was lackluster. Install was easy with the Maestro datalink kit. Uses wireless CarPlay and adds vehicle info with live tire pressure. Sound is markedly better and customizable. It was expensive - $850 ish out the door. Definately worth it.IMG_7772.jpgIMG_7775.jpg

6" lift, Fox 2.5 DSC with adjusters(Rear 2.5s on the Rona’ back order) FF headache racks/Modifier&RC Cubes,DBCustoms Matte PC Grill w dual RC Cubes and amber backlit script, Westin Rails,Dropstar 20" 645B with 35.12.50.20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. MESO'd out. Rago bed mounts. Dynamat,JL650s components in all corners with dual JL 10” shallow mounts/custom box. Taco tunes amp for the doors and Monoblock for the subs.
Sounds like Carplay is getting more refined. I have a Kenwood DDX9904s with carplay in my R32 and I cant seem to figure out how to: Be plugged in via lightning/have Waze up/ and change the song. Waze screen disappears if you try to change the song on the head unit. 1st world probs,I know. I contemplated swapping out the Entune to the Kenwood, but it doesnt integrate as well as the Entune, go figure.(Plus no Sirius tuner included and BT mike is going to have to be installed.)

I had the Base Tacoma SR radio. The base is very basic without any vehicle info or bells and whistles.

Everything works with the swap except for the factory microphone. The Alpine included one which is actually clearer than the OEM.

I have an SR and was thinking about doing the same thing. Could you give me links? Do you lose any functionality?

I got it from Crutchfield. The only thing that didn't work is the factory microphone, but the one the alpine provides is better. Having the gauges is awesome.

The lockups happen randomly. The only way I got it to respond was to hard reboot it- hold down the power button for 10 seconds. It is very disheartening. It happens about 5+ times a week. I have an iPhone 6. I like the radio and features. I am updating problems if and when they arise. In the video I pulled over to demonstrate.

Where did you mount the mic? Same place as stock? I was curious how that was going to go.

Could you show images of the vehicle customization screens? I want to see how they show up on the alpine

I am curious to see this as well. I was considering one for my 18' Tacoma Off-Road.

Hah my iPhone X does this sometimes too in the actual phone itself. Maybe it's an Apple thing?
