I'm not trying to sound superior at all. I just want my question to be answered. This is why I never post on here because people don't know what they are talking about. They always say fox is better and then someone else comes in and says NO NO king is.... Its always a constant battle. I just want an answer to my question, and your right one person did comment but I would like a bit more info and other peoples input. and not to ask me what lift i have and how shitty it is. thanks

True that. Well the lift/ level kit that I had from pro comp before this one seemed to do the trick for me and it was cheap. So check that out if your interested. Just speaking from experience, I dont know if there's "better" options out there.

Get the 3" body lift, make sure you get gap guards. I'd upgrade the hardware to grade 8 if it isn't already. At the same time of the body lift, replace the rubber body mount bushings with polyurethane. You should be able to fit 35's without issue, but 37's you're gonna have to get the correct wheels and not use wheel spacers. Re gearing to 4.88 will be helpful, but why not just up it to 5.29 to help out that under powered 3.5L engine with those huge and heavy tires.

People that argue over king and fox are arguing over two of the highest reputable companies out there. No was is hating on your lift, we’re just letting you know that icon, Fox, and king have better ride quality probably because they only lift about 2.5”. Now if we were talking about 6” lift kits, you would probably have one of the better options.

Thank you for being the most helpful one! I will be able to fit 35s on it now, but need to trim the body mount. I was just wondering if it was possible. Thanks for the help!

Third gen body mounts are much larger and have more material in them than 2nd gens and T4R's, so right now, flat plates like BAMF are your only option. If you have a way to cut and bend metal, you can custom make a CMC plate for yours. An Insane fab curved plate almost fits, but I personally don't think it allows enough material to be removed to fit 37's.

Trust me I would have gone with fox shocks if they were available lol. They had a contract with bds at the time and I couldnt get them unless I wanted to wait 4/5 months. But yes, im talking about 6" lift.

And I'm saying that there is only one style plate available for third gen CMC, you'd have to custom make a CMC plate to remove enough material to guarantee that you won't rub on the body mount with 37's.

Once again, I’m just reciting what I’ve heard in the past. I think no matter how much you lift it, it doesn’t change how much can fit in the wheel well once you flex and get the tire in there a little bit. So, running 37s will need lots of trimming for when the tire compressed up into the wheel well some.

That person didn't say anything about 3" at all. Are you actually reading the replies? It honestly doesn't look like you are.

I have some info that should be very relevant. My last Tacoma was a 2006. The 2 gen and 3rds are very similar as far as the suspension make up. I had a 6" Fabtech, 3in body with front body mount chop, TC UCAs, Race Runner coilovers set at 2.5 and Alcan 8in leaf pack in the rear with bilstein 5100s. Stay away from Alcan unless you like rust. Race Runner coilovers felt stiff but set at 2.5in it will. I was able to clear 37s with no problems! I initially went with 5.29 gears but only in the rear as the front 5.29 kit was still in development. She ran like a raped ape! Fast forward 4 years, never got to the front gears and my 5.29s blew up. Bit the bullet and did 4.88 front a rear because no 5.29s for the fronts yet. Noticeable diff. If you like the power and don't mind guzzling gas go 5.29!

Overall loved the truck and never had issues. CVs were fine and NO driveline vibes. The fabtech kits are awesome. All in all I dumped 10k into my truck and still miss it.

I don't off road just love the look of a lifted truck and dried it with a diaper if it got rained on.

Good luck, don't let anyone tell you your truck will be ruined. If it's done right you won't have any issues. I did it, I know.

Thanks for this info! That's exactly what I was wondering except you had the older body style. But like you said I'm pretty sure the suspension setups are pretty similar. And who likes rust haha! Mine has a few spots on it now from the parts they took of for the lift and it drives me insane lol. So if you cleared 37s no problem, were you running 40s??
