Something I learned early in my marriage: The second Christmas after I got married my in-laws got me this awesome convertible coat from LLBean. 13 years later, I wear this coat almost every day. No joke: I'm wearing it as I type this, because all of the guys in my office keep it too damn cold. It is one of the best damn Christmas presents I've ever received.

Here is the wisdom: No matter what anyone else gets you, the present your wife gets you is the best present you got that Christmas. If your in-laws get you this totally awesome coat, and your wife gets you some other gift that you can't even remember what it is anymore, and you go on-and-on about how great the coat is, you will be eating turd sandwiches well into the new year. Ask me how I know.

My wife actually wanted a Roomba, but none of the ones with the features she wanted matched her price point. (We're kinda over the whole Christmas morning surprise thing.) So she's getting a new board game and a spa gift certificate instead.

Amateur hour in here for Spousal Christmas affairs. The Wife and I don't exchange gifts at all, we came to that agreement after the first year. She knows I buy so many things all year long that there is no way she can get me what I "want". She did buy me a nice
Invicta watch that first year which I hold dear. I get her what she wants, when she wants. But she isn't materialistic, so that adds difficulty.

Oh yeah and for y’all who have wives finding gifts: if it’s small throw it behind the seat in your truck. If it’s too big, store it in one of the pelican cases that you bought off of @HABOOBS & throw a lock on it. She’ll figure it’s camping & shooting gear.

Ditto! But this year I suggested an affordable pew pew toy.
I got her what she has been talking about for a couple years, a scooter.
Will have to keep 911 on speed dial though. Lack of coordination, twist throttle, and asphalt is a bad combo :)

It's for the best usually to keep tgem on speed dial. My wife wants a street bike cause she is tired of being my back pack. I'm a bit scared but if she wants it then I'm ok. Just won't be a Christmas present
