my grill is perfect after 1 year. I just took everything off my sport wheels, and it was way more than I thought. Most power washed easily, but took more wd40 and scrubbing than I thought.

Left the wheels on the truck and used plastic bags to cover the brakes. Make sure to give them a good cleaning and then used about a can per wheel

Dipped mine last week, I took mine off the truck and removed the center caps. 5 coats of plasti, and one coat of Rustolium clear coat.

I’m new to this plasti dip thing but seen some awesome stuff on here. I was definitely excited to see I could do something about that chrome grill without spending $400. Gonna do mine as soon as we get a day with no rain in Seattle. Has anyone here plasti dipped there fender flares?

I've personally not done it but have seen others who have and looks good. And holds up well if done correctly and cleanly.

For anyone that wants to black out their grille and knows they are never wanting going back to chrome, the duplicolor bed liner stuff works great and adds neat texture. That's what I did for a while beforw I bought a faux pro grille.

I cleaned and sanded it, then cleaned it again. The grille is a pain to sand due to all the curves but just get in there with sandpaper wrapped around your finger. I also used my crappy black & decker sander for the straight/flat portions. Check out my post below. Also be aware that this bedliner stuff was semi-soft even a few days after, but once it cured it became hard as a rock.

I eventually bought a faux pro grill from ebay but not due to the bedliner, just wanted a different look. I am keeping the grille just in case the faux one does not hold up.

I dipped the fenders on my super white. I think it turned out well. It’s been dipped for about 6 months now. No chips or anything. I put on like 6 good coats though. Never been through a car wash. I just hand wash and even hit it with a pressure washer and it still looks good. Both wheels and fenders are dipped. The only chip I ever got was from taking my truck for its maintenance and the Toyota people apparently don’t give a shit and stripped some of the plastidip when they were rotating my tires. Other than that nothing caused from everyday driving

Wd40 and scrubbing? What did you do that for? To clean the wheels?

Mine have been dipped along with the front valence for about 5 months and I Run it through the car wash at my work frequently. It’s held up great and I just wipe it down with turtle wax ice once and a while to make it look like new. I think I did 4-5 coats or something.

T-Rex grill with black bezel. Blacked out all the badges and added the Tacoma on the tail gate. The windows have been tinted to the darkest law will allow.
