4 weeks ago, and thanks for asking. I freeway commute 25k a year and have prided myself in spotting idiots and staying out of trouble. Not even a ticket. I always just let other cars go wherever they want. Boy I sure ate some humble pie on this one

Mine was super minor, compared to everyone else. The hiLift took the brunt but suprisingly wasn't damaged.

Ive noticed these new Tacomas hold up really well in accidents. A friend rolled his double cab 5 times and walked out.

Wow glad you’re ok. A real wake up call for sure.

Recently I’ve been thinking about how on a two lane road the only thing between you and oncoming traffic is a couple of yellow lines...

As defensive a driver as I thing I am, all it takes is some idiot texting at 65mph to fade into my lane.

    Boggles the mind.

Third gen vs a Frontier. The 28 year old in the Frontier died, 50 year old in the Tacoma had "non life-threatening" injuries.

That's crazy, and right in my neck of the woods. That tacoma got really jacked up. Amazing the driver was fine.

Not a tacoma...:crapstorm: but a recent roll I was in the shotgun seat in a friends GMC, some dirt gave way on the side of a trail and the truck rolled 3-4 times.
Definitely made me and the other friends in vehicle fully respect what can happen offroad, even when going safe and easy.

Edit: rusty brown thing is a Chevy carcass that is 10+ years old that was previously there, and actually stopped our rolling

It was a beautiful day with zero wind and this punk tree with an attitude decided to do a flying elbow slam on my truck. 2014 DCSB off road.

Has anyone with a Magnetic Gray Mettalic paint gotten their bumper or something replaced. Mine was in an accident and got a new bumper and the bumper doesn’t reflect light the same as the rest so if you shine a light on the bumper it’s more of a gray color and less of a copper tone. Drives me nuts.

Take it back to the shop if you're not happy, they probably used non OEM paint and just blended their own, then it's up to the guy mixing's eye and experience. They also may have used capa or china parts vs OEM.

This what it looks like when hitting it with the light. I told them I wanted only OEM parts since the truck only had 3000 miles on it.

Oh yeah that's definitely unacceptable. Should be covered under warranty, I'd call your Ins company to let them know beforhand as well so the shop doesn't try to foot you the bill.

Do you think I still have a case even if during like overcast or non direct sunlight it is hard to see the color difference. But if you hit it with a flash light it is super obvious. It got repaired like three weeks ago and I’ve been really unhappy with it since the truck only has 4,000 miles now.

That's even a problem on MGM trucks from the factory based on what I've read on here. Some have mismatched panels, for whatever reason.

Absolutely you should have a case, if you're not happy with the repair it needs to be redone. The purpose of insurance coverage when repairing the vehicle is to return it to pre-accident condition, if you're not happy with it then they haven't done their job, a job which you have paid for via your premiums.

    Edit:

And the shop should have a lifetime warranty on the paint, I had a car that had a door resprayed when someone side swiped me (a texting and driving idiot) two years after the repair the paint started bubbling and separating from the door panel, they repaired it with no issues, sold the car shortly thereafter.
