So my radiator hose has been leaking or crusting around the ends. It was doing it awhile back and i had the hosed replaced but i noticed the reservoir getting low again and the red crusting back around the ends. Is this normal for Tacomas? Is there any way to prevent this? Like i said, i replaced the hose and the clamps are on there tight and hose is up far enough.

    TIA

They are a bitch too get them too stop leaking, when I changed mine had too use 2 clamps on each end too get it too stop leaking.Toyota says you need factory hoses with the factory pressure clamps.never had the promblem with any other cars or trucks.

I never had the problem with my others over the years - I was thinking of changing mine as general maintenance now I'm rethinking. Try the double clamps and let us know how it works. I do a lot of plumbing and Teflon tape and paste always stops leaks but I've never used it on radiator connections - wonder if it's worth a try ?

I believe mine has two clamps on it already...The factory clamps i think and the hose clamps you tighten with a screwdriver.

When you change hoses you need too use paint thinner too clean all the coolant and or fluids off the inside end of the hoses and the plastic tube part of the radiator before putting the hoses on,it makes the hoses fit tighter and stick better.Coolant is very slick .

Upgrade to silicon hoses. Do what he said and clean prior to install.

Don't over-tighten the clamp at the radiator, the plastic will crack
