When I was washing the truck the other day, I noticed that the plastic in the roof water channels was a little wonky. The passenger side is not flush, and the driver's side is better but not that great. Fitment is rather shoddy to say the least. Anyone else notice this? Would this be something the dealership could fix or will they not address cosmetic "flaws" such as this which may be regarded as minor?

Being that that I live in the Southwest, I predict the heat will just make it worse.

Won't hurt to ask. Sooner the better.

After further review, these plastic pieces are removable, right? One would remove these if they were installing a roof rack? If so, then perhaps they can be easily be reseated and made flush. It may be nitpicking, but the fitment is indeed a bit haphazard, IMO.

I can attest to these being removable. Especially when driving down the highway. Going in Monday to get my driver side one installed. It flew off a few days ago while driving down the road.

There's a small clip attached to the roof holding the front part of the rubber trim, and they tuck under the rear part. They are taped down with a length of white foam tape in the middle of the rubber trim piece too. You could probably get some 3m tape and secure it better without too much trouble. These trim pieces are easy to remove, just cosmetic really, and they need to be removed and cut around the rack mounting holes to fit roof rack pegs. The roof rack bolts go through the trim into 5 tape-covered pretapped rack holes found in each channel (2 each front and rear, and 1 in the middle)

Can confirm, driving down the highway can remove the part for you.

One afternoon while driving I heard a rapid tapping sound on the roof for a few seconds , then nothing. Must have come loose on the front first and held on briefly by the tucked in portion of the rear.

Phone call then a trip to the dealer, took them an hour to determine they needed to order the part. At least it was covered under warranty right?

Three days later, at the dealer for two hours for them to install the new part. I was there at 7:30am and had even cleaned/prepared the water channel by removing the old foam and adhesive that had failed before my appointment. I really hate going to the dealer for anything... but they'll fix this.

Thanks, Illogical! Did they do the other side as a preventative measure? Do you recall if the back piece was raised up like mine? The air must have gotten under it and peeled it up. I'm definitely going to get this fixed!

Nope. My passenger side had a small gap between the pieces, not quite raised like yours, but they claimed it was fine and only replaced the missing drivers side piece.

*had never really examined them until after the incident so I couldn't say if it was raised prior to.

Mine did the same thing. Came off on the freeway flapping in the wind. Dealer installed a new one.

My passenger side front edge caught wind and ripped off but only about two thirds flew up, back and slapped my rear glass so hard I don't know how it didn't break it. I now have a roof rack.

My passenger side strip was not flush so I took in to dealership and they replaced it for free. It is called a mohican strip or something like that.
If you don't want to deal with dealership it would be an easy fix with double sided 3m tape as I took off the strips to put a roof rack on a couple weeks after fix.

Does anyone know what these parts are called? Is it Side Rail - Right, 61211-04040, or Drip Moulding - Right, 75551-04070? The on-line parts diagrams aren't very clear.
