My buddy has a new 2017 V6 4x4 Dbl cab limited and just got a new TRD exhaust (from the cat back).

I have a 2006 V6 4x4 TRD off-road access cab. Looking under the trucks they look like a direct bolt up.

I had problems with my factory exhaust and had to replace my muffler and the guy who did it must have been new. Had to get it welded right the second time..

The question is can I make this swap if I have the 1GR and he has the 2GR engine?

    Thanks

Nobody can post any feedback? I took my truck to a muffler shop in Sparks, NV and the convict who worked on it didn't know how to weld... Long story short I had to pay and fix his mistakes and that was not cheap..

I was gifted a 2017 exaust from the cat back, with some modification and TLC from a local shop.. with this fit?

If the pipe diameter is the same and the flange holes match up. I don' see why it wouldn't work. You you might have to cut and relocate the hangers. Or just cut the muffler and reweld it in place

we have both gen 2/3 tacomas, the exhaust is definitely different on them. The flange in front of the muffler is much different on the 3rd gen, it is a tight/rigid fit vs the donut flange and spring tensioned bolts on the 2nd gen. Now if you wanted to try and mod the 3rd gen TRD exhaust a little as necessary to fit the 2nd gen it could likely be done. I weld up custom exhausts under all our rigs to my liking, most recently cutting out the stock muffler, welding in s FM Super 44 and shortening the exhaust to dump over the axle on my wife's '17.
