Yup--it was the original buyer that bought into into it--I just took advantage of his stupidity (and willingness to eat the depreciation) when I bought it used in October of 2016...

I see your point on "Toyota racing". Here is more history on TRD.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Racing_Development

By the way, in Japan they refer to TRD as Technocraft. I don't think I want that sticker on the back of my Tacoma.

We (SWMBO and I) have not bought a new car in over 30 years; quickest way there is to lose thousands--just as soon as your plate goes on it.

In fact very near the top of my "things NOT to do if I get another go-round" list is "buy a new car"...

Brothers Nismo on the dyno after having a Fast Intentions twin turbo installed. At 6lbs boost just over 500hp at the rear wheels, not the crank. The system looked like a work of art in itself.

That is a Datsun sports coupe, I'm not certain I see any relevance?

Don't over think it people. It's their way of making money, and they know damn well how to do that.

    Work in progress...
Actually what happens is the manufacture spends dollars and time testing ideas and engineering in the racing segment. Toyota Racing Development is a result of that money and time spent. Richard Petty's Dad, Lee Petty started it all with a rear view mirror if I remember it correctly.

Hey now. Don't tick me off. You wouldn't like me when I'm righteously indignant!

I've been on TW long enough that i know you know that I only got a Pro because it had leather seats and NO sunroof.

My corolla has a big fat TRD decal on the rear window. She does a break-neck 0-60 of 9.5 seconds.

First thing I bought was new suspension.
Your 5100's are a definite improvement over the OR stuff!
Good thoughts and points brother !
