Good afternoon... I recently bought my first Tacoma(2017 TRD Sport) and have read numerous threads on the 'ticking' that goes on..... Truck drive really smooth when driving, but I noticed the annoying ticking when idle and loud motor.... I am assuming this is a common theme with Tacomas. I had a few questions though.... 1) What causes this tick? and 2) is there a way to reduce this noise? I read using 91/93 gas can help reduce this noise, but I wasn't sure if there was some other trick I can be doing to help this. Any info is appreciated!

D-4S system cleaning your injectors, its normal. No there truly isn't a solution.
The ticking is caused by the high pressure fuel pump releasing high pressure gas in short intervals to make carbon deposits come off the injectors. FYI, these Tacomas have 12 injectors total. 6 for the direct injection and 6 for the port injection.
