So my Toytec 5100’s are leaking like crazy and it’s time to replace them. No question I want something that will ride better, rebuildable and something that will last.

I’ve ordered the JBA STD high castor control arms because I didn’t want the uniball (I’m up in Canada).

My question is about the Fox 2.5 and King 2.5. Both have slightly different adjustments: Fox has high and low speed compression where as the King has just a single compression adjustment. Which one is preferable over the other? I’ve searched and searched and have any found that Fox has slightly harder rod coating and King’s bodies have a slightly better coating that the Fox.

The Kings are $1800 and the Fox 2.5 are $2600 in my area. Would you jump for the Fox? Or save the money and go King? Or are the Kings that are listed on Toyotechs site a lower grade King not really comparable to the 2.5 Fox Factory series?

The Fox adjusters are substantially better, they are separate high and low speed adjustment so you can easily make the change you want (handling & washboard vs big bump performance). The king adjuster is a low speed bleed type adjuster, only they made the flow area very large, so it mostly adjusts mid speed compression. But shock tuners focus more on high and low speed tuning and mid speed is sort of a result until you get into really fine tuning. So the King adjuster isn't really focused on a very useful part of the damping curve.

Fox also uses larger size fittings, substantially higher quality oil, and is a much more consistent shock.

Perfect, I found that article in my search actually. I ordered Fox 2.5’s with DSC and JBA control arms yesterday. Hopefully they ride better than some leaking Toytec’s lol
