Just sold my Silverado and been wanting a tacoma for a few years now. They are all selling used for 12k +
    2 wheel drive and automatic

-Found a silver 2006 access cab trd off road V6, 1 owner, 140.000 miles, excellent condition
    $10.000

    - Also found a 2007 access cab SR5 V4, 155.000 miles, 2nd owner, has scratches and need to be detailed
    $8.000

I would like to know your personal opinion on the engines and the trucks, i never tow, but will carry a nice load once a week in the bed
Will the I4 hold a ladder rack and some lumber or should i go for the off road V6?
Thank you all in advance, any input would be greatly appreciated as i am going to make my choice within the next few days

I always prefer the V6 over the I4 but many people say the I4 does just fine. To get more accurate replies you my want to add if they are 2wd or 4wd. Also auto or manual and any extras. The 2006 is my choice and kbb in excellent condition is 8-10k so you may be able to do a little better?

There all above KBB, the cheapest one i found was 11-12 grand
I think the I4 is better gas mileage and dont see the need for the TRD package and the rear locker.

In that case the SR5 may be the better choice. 2k would get your detail, rack and AAL for the loads you will carry. Either one looks fair.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
4 cyl if you drive flat land or V6 for hilly terrain

I drove 4 cylinder trucks for 25 years before I got my current truck with the V6. Wish I had done it sooner.

Just my opinion, but I would happily give $2,000 more for the V6 Prerunner. I mean, just look at the pics. Prerunners and 4x4's look so much better!

Welcome to TW. Go with the V6. You won't regret the decision.

Welcome aboard, I love mine with the 4.0 v6 and having the extra capacity or hauling and towing if needed would be well worth it to me. That said haven't driven the i4 so can't really talk about. Seems to be a great little more as well. Good luck with your choice.
