Hey guys, I am not sure if this is the correct area for me to post this up but i saw a few posts in this section regarding decals so i figured it would be OK considering these are along the same line.

I just wanted to get some opinions and thoughts from avid truck people on these magnets i have recently began making. I began making them because I originally wanted the American flag vinyl badge look on my car but I didn't necessarily want to commit to a sticker on my paint, thus i designed and began making these magnets to mimic that look but leave no residue behind and to be easily relocated to change the look.

Please let me know your thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it. (And if this is inappropriate or in the wrong section please move or delete it Mods, Thank you.)

Thank you. The intention of this post was to ideally get some feedback on them from members, although the items are also for sale.

    I like the idea!

I like the flag vinyls, but have this thing about wearing USA branded stuff when I go abroad. It would be nice to "debadge" before taking the truck to Canada or Mexico. Yeah, I know it still has Utah plates, but no need to make it more obvious...

I do think they are a little expensive. I don't know what your cost of materials is on them, but a pair of vinyl ones run at most the cost of one side's magnet. I know magnetic backing is more than some thin vinyl, but I hope you know what I am trying to say.

    Thanks!

Yeah the prices are a little high i agree, I am sure that is why magnets like this haven't been made or sold before. There really is no good / efficient way of producing them, which is why I currently make them individually one by one (also the reason the cost is high). Also I am donating a portion of every order to Homes for our Troops foundation, which is factored into the price as well. I see completely what you are saying and i really appreciate your input, thank you.

They look great to me... especially since they were designed / put on correctly.

Haha thank you, glad you like them!

Yes I designed some specifically for driver's side and others for passenger side. Although people still frequently tell me they dont like the "look" of the flag facing what they believe to be "backwards". I usually just try to educate them a little but that doesn't often change their mind.

I gotta give you credit: that's a smart idea! Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of magnets. I used to have a couple of small magnets on my car, but I'd always forget about them when I went through the touchless car washes.......

But it looks like you've got a decent amount of interest here already, so keep up the good work!

    Thank you, I appreciate that.

The forgetting about the magnets in the car wash has actually been something I have thought about as well, fortunately for me at least, its been all I have been thinking about lately so I always have remembered, haha.
I am actually thinking about having some sort of "one free replacement" for an error like that for customers, still working out the ideas though.

    I appreciate the input!

Be sure to take a look at the full Buy/Sell/Trade rules when you get a chance. That's also why the 50 post rule is there. It forces people to get to know this crazy/unique/awesome family, and we get to know you. I think you'll do just fine here.

I think they look absolutely awesome BUT I used magnets on my truck one time and one time only.

In the summer heat they melted to the paint. (And I only own white trucks too)

Decals are easy to put on and take off when you are tired of them. All you need is a heat gun.

Melted to your truck?? what kind of heat were you dealing with and do you happen to know the thickness/coating of the magnets you used?

It was car magnets I got with NFL stuff on them. Not sure of the specifics.
But like I said I had a white truck and I live in the midwest so we don’t get insane heat or aggressive sun.

Interesting. That makes me wonder about the thickness/quality of the magnetic material and what product they used to cover it.

NFL... I wouldn't doubt they are using cheap made in China products. But I won't get into my opinions on the NFL, hah.
