There's a lot of leeway here since we have no idea about your truck

Is it the factory Toyota alarm?

    Is it aftermarket?

Does the alarm keep sounding or does it turn off after a few beeps?

Can you disable it by using the key in the lock or ignition?

Does it have keyless entry but not the keyring fob or no power door locks at all?

Get more info from this "friend" about what the hell is in the truck?

Wait more than 5 minutes for someone to answer, not everyone is glued to their screens all day, we occasionally need a break :D

Disconnect battery, turn key on, reconnect battery. Or try locking and unlocking door 3 times while alarm is going off. If aftermarket alarm gonna need some pics.

It is the Toyota factory alarm nothing special has been done to the truck everything is stock. The lady we bought it from does not have the keyless remote entry just a regular key. When we put the new battery in the alarm keeps going off and will not let us start the truck. Thanks for responding and trying to help me out with this

Ok, try turning the key on the reconnect the battery.should bypass the alarm. I do stuff like this for work. Dumb question, the key will unlock the door? You can try the lock/unlock thing too. Usually it takes 3 lock/unlock then alarm should reset.

Had the same exact issue. Ended up having to take it to a mechanic to disable the alarm. Not totally sure what he did to accomplish that but I do know my driver side power lock didn’t work afterwords.....

    ^ I wouldn't do this then :p

You may have to get a Toyota fob programmed for the alarm. Find out if it's the RS3000 or RS3200. I think they program the same but not 100% sure.

this is a shot in the dark but @mechanicjon any thoughts?

Most factory alarms will reset with one of the 2 suggestions I gave. I'm a 3a driver, I deal with older cars, dead battery and no alarm fob a bit.

Fob is 60 bucks from dealer. And I followed a YouTube video to program it took 4 try's..and my coworkers were laughing at me..but I saved 180 bucks.

I bought and programmed remote for my truck. Had no issues. Should be able to pick up a remote cheap and do it.
