Just got my insurance renewal quote since my fender bender. The quote is $300 more than my last. I am going to try to change the at-fault status though. I hit a pole to avoid someone?!?! I also have a perfect driving record

Why do you not have accident forgiveness with your insurance?

A single collision claim in a specified anount of time should not change your rates. Ask them about this. They might be trying to pull a fast one :spy:

Also you hit a pole... it’s your fault. That’s why you are better off (provided there is no injury/death danger) to let dumb people hit you.

If you are driving down the road and someone cuts you off and you swerve to avoid them and hit someone else. Accident is your fault.
Has nothing to do with intent, it’s all liability.
