Hey guys I am new to here but seems like a good place to ask questions. I have a 2005 4.0 V6 and not sure what these capped two fluid lines are that terminate just left (from front looking at truck) of fuse box. One is leaking, smells like oil, but is near oil cap where some has spilled. Checked oil and its good. Whoever can tell me what these lines are and if this fluid coming out is normal thanks so much.

Those are your breather lines to your transfer case and Front diff. I could not tell you why oil would be coming from there.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I had a little oil come out one of those once. Don't know why. Best guess is oil splashed onto vent hole inside differential and somehow burped itself out.

Thanks for clarifying what they are. So is it possible after I replaced cv joints, I refilled too much gear oil into front transfer case and as it expands it makes its way out through that breather line?

And might I add a Thank You for not joining and asking which tire size will fit with stock wheels and no lift, or what is the best tire.

Gear oil doesn't expand like atf does. I would check level and make sure it's not too low. If it's low and the diff got too hot and the oil started burning off, you would get that residue. Just recheck levels in transfer case and front diff to be sure.
