2010 Tacoma CD player won't LOAD

My CD player recently stopped loading any discs. It just sits there with LOAD showing. Occasionally there will be a few clicks, but nothing else. I will presume the player is dead. So, in looking for a replacement I see references to 'face codes'. Is this something critical? It is a base model Tacoma with a base model CD player.

 

Could just be a dusty reader

If you feel like it, take that thing apart.

If its not worth it to you, just replace.

 

I tried using a head cleaner on it but got the same reaction. As for replacing it, I still would like some info as to the 'face code' - whether I have to get an exact replacement, or what other options are available.

 

Time to upgrade!
