Was wondering if anyone here or if anyone’s knows of someone doing an engine swap on their 3rd Gen Taco and if so what kind??

Love my 3rd Gen, the truck just feels a little “laggy” at times.

I’ve learned how to make mine go.
Roll down your window. (Can’t hear the transmission shifting with the wind noise.) Put your foot to the floor. At the same time raise your left arm out the window with a fist and yell “Taco power”!!! Goes pretty good!

I think there are some companies working on some Supercharger Kits, when those finally become available they should add some needed low end grunt.

Trade it for a ‘69 mustang with a 429 cobra jet engine, no “laggy” there!

Well you are in the right place, many members are on the same quest as you, subscribe to the 3rd gen forum and you will get up to speed right quick.

Lots of good technical information, and you can see from some the responses, a fair amount of fun.

    Welcome.

Only one of those I ever ran against couldn't quite get past my door handles. Held him off that half length from a 100 mph rolling start till we hit 130.

His call on the 'how'. Something about tall gears. After he'd already gotten spanked by my buddy's Judge running heads up off the line. For which my toad was only capable of being a spectator.

His passenger was laughing a lot though. Not very considerate of him.

All on a sanctioned closed course. Natch.
