Unfortunately this seems to be a common problem. IDK if you really want a fix attempt, as that might be worse.
You could always vinyl wrap the whole thing!

Nope. My truck seems to be all the same color. Or if it isn't I cant tell.

The one thing that I have noticed is I can see every little scratch like it's back lit. I need to look into clay bars or something, wax doesn't seem to help.

I might be seeing it in your pics but it’s hard to tell if it’s just the picture. I’ve also got an MGM but haven’t noticed a difference...now I need to check haha

MGM is damn near worse than black when it comes to seeing imperfections.

For those saying they need to check theirs..

Go park it on an angle with the sun toward the panel in question or that you're interested in, walk around that side of the vehicle and report back..

I feel I'm not really happy with this situation whether it's a known issue or not at this point. A lot of money to have a two tone paint job :annoyed:

That sticks out like a sore thumb, I can easily see that in those pictures. I would not be happy with that at all.

Still trying waiting for a response on the initial question.
Did you address the problem with your dealership? Hanging out with your salesman and looking at 3 other trucks isn’t addressing the problem.
Take your truck to service and start the process. Otherwise stop complaining and move on.

    Merry Christmas.

You have one picture where one side (drivers side) shows the driver door darker than the rear door, then another picture where the other side (passenger side) of the truck shows the exact opposite. Then you have another picture where both doors look the same.

I dont know man, may be just be the nature of the beast with MGM and viewing it at different angles in the sun

Dealership advised to take to a body shop to have them go over it with a paint meter, which will hopefully be tomorrow. They did not have one, and didn't appear to have an actual body shop on location.

Right which is what I'm seeing as well.. I attempted to go around with the same amount of light and it then it started looking like it matched when you stand back and look at the side directly.

Almost all dealerships send their body and paint issues to body shops. They usually do not have body shops on site.
I’m telling you right now your probably not going to get a solution that makes you happy. I hope I’m wrong though.

    Mines MGM no issues.

But had a spot on the fender that was messed up looked like a burn. Dealer fixed it for free.

Crazy as shit I think it is.. I've had 22 cars, from M3, M5, Supra, AMG Benz to 'economy' cars and I've never seen anything like this with a brand new one lol

I am not a body man but my inlaws are and I work with them quite a bit. I bought a new Subaru Forester a few years ago that had been passed to a couple dealerships and then located for us by our dealership. My wife picked up the car and I immediately noticed the colors did not match when I saw it. I also found tape lines and over spray. The Subaru dealerships claimed the Forrester was never damaged and none of the dealerships that had the car would admit to repairing it. I got another Forrester 2 months later after Subaru actually came out and agreed my car had been damaged.
Take it to a body shop you trust and get their opinion about your paint. I think something is going on here. Good luck!

Optical illusion. Rear door pitch is at a different angle. Next time you notice this open the front door slightly and watch the color shift. Then do the same with the rear door.
Scroll through the MGM thread and you will see lots of pics in bright light with the same difference. Check the last pic in the 1st post.

Check out the MGM color thread, almost every mgm has the same problem. I have a MGM also and it has the same problem of doors not matching I have not contacted corp to open a case file but others have on this forum and get the same response, "Oh that's normal". The only thing that's normal is Toyota has crappy paint. I came from domestic trucks to the tacoma, I love the truck overall but hate their crappy paint jobs. Good luck with yours stay on Toyota until they fix it for you.
