Yep... I'd love to have my old Jeep for the week-end cruiser. Nothing like putting the top down and riding through the Smokey Mountains. But, I took it on a road trip once and that was one time too much. Just can't justify the extra vehicle and that's why I bought the Tacoma. It's versatile where we can take it camping and haul the kids and stuff from Lowe's around, but gets great gas mileage to and from work.

Jeeps are fun rigs. The reason I have a Tacoma over a Jeep (again) is it’s just more practical. It can do 90% of the wheeling a similarly equipped wrangler can do with the practicality of a truck. Plus there’s more room for my camping gear.

I'm not a Jeep guy at all as I never understood the real appeal for the most part.
Except for the LJ. That's the last Jeep I would buy.
I have a weird irrational love for those lol.

FWIW, I have owned a Scrambler and a Cherokee. Both of those taught me that I will only ever own 2 Jeep products in my life.

I will never own anything other than a Tacoma in my life. I tried a full size 2015 F-150. Loved the power as it had the 3.5 Ecoboost engine, but that’s all I liked about it.

I LOVE my new 2017 Tacoma. I open the door to my garage 2-3 times a day just to look at it if I’m not going anywhere. LOVE this truck.

I'm rethinking my future Tacoma>Jeep swap. Had a 12' JKU that I swapped for my Tacoma. The new JLU prices were dropped today and I just don't have the same Jeep boner I had yesterday. Doesn't seem worth it. Now I'm looking into lifting my Taco and new wheels/tire. Kinda got a lifted 3rd gen chub goin' on now. (ok, no more phallic references for me, reached my quota for today)

Wow, 50k for an Unlimited Rubicon. My bro picked up a brand new 15' for 35k. When the Diesel option hits, it will be close to 55k.

Not only that, it got the Colorado rear axle lol.

Damn. I had a JKU and loved it - but there's no way I'd pay $50k for a stock one, even if it's a Rubicon.

Canadian pricing came out today. I priced out a Rubicon Unlimited with my ideal options and it looks like it'll cost me around $59,000.

That's around $17,000 more than a TRD Off Road DCSB! Wow!!!

I'm currently trading in my jeep 2014 JK on a trd off road Tacoma. Jeep has 70 000km, in that time the radiator has needed replacing, rear lsd needed replacing. Leaking axle seals on both front and rear differentials. Door seals leak and in a good rain my jeep has an inch of water on the floor pan. Maybe I was unlucky and got a lemon but I personally can not wait to get in a Toyota.

Straight axles , 4 wheel disc brakes and lockers front and rear for the win ! add in a stick shift if you like also . Jeep will have their pick up truck out in a year with several different motors including a diesel with straight axles , manual transmission and a truck bed in you need it .Thats a proper truck and will make the Tacoma look silly.

No mine wasn't far from that. I had mine a little over a year and had to replace my rear driveshaft in that time because one day my Jeep decided to eat the driveshaft and spit it back out

Yeah, as long as the Jeep is running! Haha I had a wrangler and I know MUCH better than to make claims like that on behalf of Fiat-Chrysler group.

That’s outrageous. Wonder how many will sell at that price, with those options. It better be awesome, and bulletproof, for 60 grand.

I wanted to love it and was looking forward to it. Even scored a crazy deal to lease a wrangler willys edition until the truck came out (I'm in the car business). Well after 6k miles on the 2017 Willys it shit the bed on the FIRST real offroad trip. My Tacoma towed it back to civilization and hat to have it flatbedded 150 miles home. Its STILL sitting at the dealership they can't figure out whats wrong with the POS.

Only 6 mores days until I can lemon law that fucker!

Having owned both, I'll give you my opinion of one thing they have in common. They're both a PITA for short, fat over 60 year olds to get into. :)

No kidding. I just priced out a somewhat basic soft top JLU Sport S to nearly 41k. No thanks!

Unfortunately seeing so much of the JL lately has cooled my want for the JKU, but the JL is just way too expensive right now. Maybe in 3 or 4 years when the first lease returns start showing up on lots.

So as of now, the want for a TRD OR is strong again.
