Honestly don't think your gonna find much love for that grill on here. I would spend 80.00 more and get a Color Matched Grill from Camelback. No offense but that thing is hideous and I wouldn't take it for free.

I believe my previous owner installed that same grill. I plastidipped it as well and it looks ok. Will upgrade late on down the road but it works for now.

If that's the look you want, I say go for it. Have no idea if it would fit properly, and understand why you'd be concerned about that.

Maybe I could just find an insert that fastens better than how most people attach the metal to an OEM surround. They do not look very clean or secure back there.

A color matched OEM? I would rather just platidip my own, the general look of the OEM insert is what I hate most. I like the looks of the MX Satoshi metal the most, and I have no problem painting my chrome surround black. But I don't like how recessed the metal is from the surround, and how they are fastened together.

    Thanks for the pic.

I don't think it looks quite that bad. I was going to make some letters or maybe buy a TRD emblem.

Hey. That Russell grill was actual billet, not 'billet style' ABS stuff. :p

Lets face it. While I actually loved that Blazer, it was like decorating a brick style wise.

But that fiberglass cowl induction hood was the real deal. Not a faux scoop like the sport boys have.

I meant I don't think either look bad. Searching on CarID right now for ideas, there are some CNC inserts for not much more. Best case would be that MX style though, I'm not a big fan of wire mesh either.

This looks like a better option. I would be ordering exactly what's in the pic here, but I would still be fastening it to the stock surround the way everyone does it. It doesn't look very secure. Are there better ways to attach these inserts?
