2018 Tail Pipe Bent Up?

Anyone else with a 2018 notice that the tail pipe is bent upward? Looks a little odd, should be pointing slightly down.

Chop it off, problem solved ​

 

Extra ground clearance

 

that was damaged after it left factory

unless that clamp on the chrome tip is forcing it up
(throw that chrome dingdong out, it doesn't do anything)

should be level or slightly down

 

Did that come from the factory with the racing slicks?

 

Will that hold water?

 

I don’t think this is terribly uncommon. I know I’ve either read about this here on the forum somewhere or seen YouTube videos about this before. It’s either a defect in some of the exhaust systems or an alignment issue during production. I’ve even seen a couple at our local dealership with tailpipes tilted upwards slightly like this. Unless it just bugs you, I wouldn’t be too concerned about it. Even if water does puddle inside....it’s stainless....and the water will blow out when you drive.

 

High clearance exhaust. You usually have to pay extra for that.

 

Mine does the same, but I don’t have a tip.

It’s stainless, but welds and joints aren’t. Plus it will be a collection point for silt, clay and mud if he 4wheels in mud or deep water. That stuff cakes on or in everything that will hold it.

 

Its actually level that is just the taco lean making it look bent.......................

 

It's a genuine Toyota stainless exhaust tip.

 

Seems to be a problem with the red trucks. Is yours an '18.

 

My 17 OR Access Cab looks the same.

 

It’s a change for 2018 they angle them up so that the downforce from the exhaust evens out the taco lean.
