Looks like I'm finally settling on a 2017 sr5 Tacoma! Been patiently waiting for a decent deal on a used one lol.

Anyways the final sale price is at 26,500 and then of course added dealer charges. I'm just wondering if the extra fees are fair.

Overall the fees seem high, but I can live it. The only fee I really don't like is the registration/title fee at $170. Going straight to the NJ MVC I should be able to transfer the title at $85 and pay the taxes right there.

Does anyone think I'll have an issue paying them the full amount (besides tax/their title fee) and than transferring the title myself?

That looks right. It doesn't have any "inventory taxes" on it, which have been determined (at least in Texas) to be something the buyer doesn't have to pay for. Not familiar with New Jersey's rules to know if those documentary fees are legit.

    Oh, and welcome to TW!

Other than the $289 prep fee, the other fees seem legit. Can you opt out of this?

$289 gets you a full detail from an independent shop + oil changes.

I understand that @Mobtown Offroad is more than willing to assist in that department. They're up in your neck of the woods.

Yeah, I did not like this either. Oil change was done already, so I won't fight them about that.

I don't mind interior detail price even though again its somewhat high.

The exterior cleaning smells like a whole lot of BS. I have to clarify what exactly was done. Because that could just mean they cleaned it with soap and water and charging 90 bucks for it. Like wtf?lol

Do you have any suggestions to fight that? Ask them for at least wash/wax and keep it at that current total price of $289?

Btw, how would I be able to tell if the truck was actually waxed vs. only washed?

    Thank you:)

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm mechanically inclined to handle most of what I want. Nothing too crazy and not about to start off roading it when it's still be financed lol.

Although, lots of towing will be getting done and still need to figure that out.

Luckily this truck has a v6 with towing package:)

The dealer "cleaning" is subpar compared to a dedicated detail shop. Also, it costs $201. For that price, you can get full detail with claybar somewhere else.

There's probably no way around the oil change, just make sure you ask them for documentation that it was indeed done.

Regarding the cleaning, tell them you will take the truck as is (without cleaning) and you don't want that fee.
Play hard ball. Don't show excitement and be ready to walk out if they insist you have to pay for it.

OP - how many miles are on the truck?

Your price is on par with what I paid for my new 2016 SR5 back in November 2016. However mine was a 4 cylinder engine without tow package. So you are getting a newer year model with more stuff and thangs than mine had. I think this is a very fair deal.

Only let the dealer wash your car if you are a super big fan of swirl marks o_O

30k miles with no wear/tear/scratches on receiver and dielectric grease on the trailer light connectors. Looks like the truck has only seen highway miles with no towing:D
