What do you all do with your wiring to your shell when you remove it? I don't want any water, dirt, debris, etc getting into the plug. I would like to find a neat way to tuck it under the bed rail. Any ideas? 1999 Toyota tacoma

    Plug Cover // Excess wire:
Plug cover: small plastic bag of any type then overwrap with tape. I prefer the semi stick blue masking painters tape because (a) it can be unwrapped/unstuck fairly easily, (b) if you come back to it after a LONG time the paper masking tape can be torn off unlike old electrical tape that is a difficult mess to remove.
Excess Wire: wind it up, stick in plastic bag and tape or tie wrap the bundle together and then tape or tie wrap the resulting bundle on or in some thing out of the way such a a frame rail under the bed. (i) Avoid securing it to things that are hot/ moving/ delicate. (ii) try to position the plastic bag bundle such that water will drain out if for some reason it gets wet. simple as the opening end where wire enters the bag is pointing down rather than up.
