    Hi all,

Ive noticed that when coming to a stop in my '17 TRD OR, theres a vibration in the pedal and it seems to shake/sputter slightly. Typically only when coming to a stop at around <10mph.

Any idea what it could be?

For the record its a manual transmission with ~2500 miles on it. I have not had any service done to it or even checked the fluids yet (shame on me..time flies by)...

    Thank you

Is it like a pulsating buzz?

Next time you are in your truck (needs to be on), pump the brake gently about 3-4 times and see if you feel an electronic buzzing in the pedal.

I had a similar experience, more noticeable when stopping on descent. Mine ended up being a warped drum... which was the one thing that was FINALLY diagnosed and replaced by the dealership. Also could be driveline angles from that TSB which is what I thought my issue was initially before we located the drum problem...

I've noticed that since day 1. From what I read the OR has something extra in the brake system for added control but then bshammer0 had that issue.

If the brake pedal vibrates like a cell phone briefly (maybe a second), it is normal operation of the brake booster.

If it feels more like a low frequency "rumble strip" type of vibration, it is probably the driveline angles, which has been discussed extensively here and in a lot of cases is coming back from Toyota as being "normal." There is a TSB out for it, but it can take a lot of effort for the dealership to acknowledge it and it hasn't solved it 100% in all cases.

How do you figure out it was the drum?

Took a tech to drive along with me and feel the shuddering on decel... after many attempts to actually get anyone to take it seriously

I currently have the same issue with a vibration when I decelerate. I took in into the dealer and they agreed their was something wrong. They didn't find any issue with the rotors or drums. However, I was told Toyota posted a bulletin for their dealers making them aware of this issue and what the fix is. They claim it is in the leaf springs and it turns out that there parts kit to include new springs and some type of steering dampener that Toyota is providing to remedy the problem. I take my 2017 4x4 SR5 (with 2k miles on it) into the dealership tomorrow for the fix which hopefully takes care of the issue. I will let everyone know if it is the remedy.

I noticed the problem almost immediately when I purchased the vehicle last December. However, it is so insignificant I haven't taken it in. Unless it get worse I'm not going to the trouble.

Still got the vibration and taking it in to the dealership the day after Christmas. (5K Checkup) It has to be a warped rotor or drum. There is no way it's normal. Aside from the transmission shifts, it's the only complaint I have about the truck.
