This was a decent day on a local river fishing for smallmouth. I was using a rig that a friend of mine invented called the "Scooby Doo Rig". You can see it in the video and then at the end I link to the video where he shows you have to make it.

You don’t want to eat anything out of the TN river where I live.

Well there’s a lot of pollution in the river because of the industrial presence. As well as a couple of superfund sites (areas around the country/world that have had environmentally harmful toxins spilled either on accident or intentionally. The superfund sites are humans way of trying to right a wrong) that have affected the fish. They are still monitoring the water and have regulations on the amount of fish that is safe to eat. After all of the research that I have done on my area certain parts of the river are worse than the others (pesticides are one of the toxins I’m talking about). But from what I found 6ozs of fish a month is all that you ‘should’ eat. In some areas of the river you can eat 6oz of fish twice a month. If I remember correctly it varies between species. I would rather not risk it. I believe that it only affects you if consumed. I really want to take a trip up north to go fishing!

Some lakes have consumption ratings here. The cause here is primarily mining operations... Lots of lakes are clean and no limit on what you can consume.

That’s cool. I feel like if I get to venture up there I’m going to want to eat some 4 legged creatures and put my fish breathren back in the water to pass on there genes!
