I am wanting to get the Ultra Gauge MX 1.3 or the Ultra Gauge Blue to monitor transmission temperature while towing. I found threads that showing that this can be done with the 2015 tacomas. Does anyone know if the same code works for the 2016's? I contacted Ultra Gauge and they were less than helpful. They said they had no idea and to do a google search. Wow, must not be hurting for business or they just don't give a shi$.

    Thanks!!!

I found that they are very helpful. I would recommend reading their FAQ:
    http://ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/support/ultragauge-mx-FAQ.htm
A buddy and I contacted them roughly at the same time that I did. My Buddy essentially demanded the code for his Tacoma. He was simply directed at the FAQ. Whereas I asked very specific questions and was prepared to put in the work to getting the code. In my case, they were able to reformat a code I sent them to work with UltraGauge. After a few more questions, and their programming supplement, I was able to get what I needed.

What's the difference in something like this and any old OBD2 adapter that can connect to Fusion or Torque and show the custom PID for the trans temp? Just curious whether there is a deeper need for a different sort of gauge to get a reliable trans temp reading?

Hey Tex. I just received an Ultra Gauge MX 1.3 for Christmas and would love to know how you got the trans temps to work on your 3rd gen. Can you share the code?

    Thanks.
