I wasn’t speaking interior or exterior wise, the 3rd gen is way better on asthetics and looks, besides the classic look of the original 2nd gen before the update. You said your minivan motor can outrun the older models. I can attest, it cannot.

I think it’s better. Again, I had an F-150 Ecoboost between my 2nd gen and 3rd gen, BUT I haul the same shit now I did with me 2nd gen and I have zero complaints. I have yet to find myself screaming for more power. If I need it, I hit the ECT power button and I get all I need. (A trailer with two Yamaha’s. 250F and a 450F.)

I’ve got my 07 2nd gen and 17’ Lariat with 2nd gen 3.5 ecoboost. Maybe it’s just me but I crave power, 370 and 475lbft is not enough in my F-150. The Raptor makes barely enough power vs weight to make it fun, Raptors suspension is what takes the cake. I was just saying, I’ve seen many videos of the 2nd easily 1 or 2 car lengths ahead in a side by side race with a 3rd gen, and 2nd gen always wins. What’s funny is the 3rd gen is first to leap off the line every time, but just doesn’t use the torque properly do to mpg gearing.

Not with an OV Tune. Whole new ballgame. I like the looks of the Raptor, but you’d never catch me paying 80,000 for one. I’d gladly pay 45,000 for a TRD Pro, though.

    Merry Christmas everyone!
I will admit the Gen3 makes a lot of power and is a great motor. However the Gen2s longer stroke and bigger displacement makes a lot more power/torque down low therefore for suitable for motivating heavy loads. Unfortunately Toyota has to meet the demands of Cafe and of the masses that like high revving hp and fuel economy. That sucks for the few old school stubborn bastards like myself.

I'll take a 3rd gen if Santa is going to make the payments, otherwise I'll keep my paid-off 2nd gen.
