    I have a 2007 Tacoma DCSB and it's my daily driver. I am looking to upgrade the suspension and would like around a 1.5" lift on the rear and somewhat level up front. The most important factor I am looking at is the ride and the comfort of the ride. It currently has a Rough Country lift with spacers in the front and blocks in the back. I have experience with the OME and dakars and the dakars are just to stiff for me. I have read about icon and different stages. Do these give a lot nicer ride than say the OME and I guess I'm talking about Stage 2? I see they are a lot higher in price than the OME kits. The first thing I need to know is this kind of lift for comfort in driving or comfort in offroading. Looks like this may be set up more for offroading. If so what is the best way to go to achieve the better ride on the street with a Tacoma. Thanks Rick


    On another note I have purchased the shocks front and back and coils from a 2017 OR. Which I am told will give me an 1" of lift up front. My truck is getting the rear leaf replacement from Toyota. I will change out the Rough Country lift for the OR shocks and coils. I don't know if I will like the Tacoma without a lift and if that is the case trying to see which way to go from their. Again comfort in the ride is the most important part of the equation.

    Bilstein 8112/8100, JBA UCAs, Icon RXT leaf pack, work wheels 17x8.5;-10os, 285/75/17 cooper LTX AT3, Mobtown HC rear bumper and Sliders, SSO front bumper, BAMF greceased grill.
    Adding any brand progressive 3 leaf AAL with the overload left out would give you a comfy ride and 1.5" rear lift.

    I personally love the ride of the Bilstein 6112/5160. Ride and comfort is subjective so you will have lots of opinions...some like stiff rides and others firm...and the whole progressive vs digressive suspension debate.

    Anything will be more comfortable than that rough country spacer/block lift.

    Have you used your Tacoma with the Billy's offroad? If so how did they perform?
    I like to explore (climb ) things. But I love going fast on trails,sand and snow :).
    Have fox on my dcsb but was thinking of your setup for my DCLB . Any input would be awesome

    Offroad for me is just dirty roads etc. no rock climbing around in my area. What is fast to you? Going 40-45 on flat dirt roads with some small bumps is doable as I've seen plenty of people do it on IG and also rock climbing which seem to do well from the videos I've seen. I haven't heard of many complaints. Im just unsure how it'll do hitting a bigger dirt hole going fast...You want fast get fox or kings.

    This setup is great on the streets that offers superior off road capabilities to the 5100s and OME imo. It comes with a 600lb spring but you can get a 650lb if your running a lot of weight up front. I should have gotten a 650 but I was was hesitant cuz I wasn't sure how it'll ride as its not valved for that setup. Running a SSO slimline bumper up front.

    I looked at the Bilstien threads ...different opinions abound there lol.
    I was going to go with the Fox as I know what it will do i.e... My short bed.
    Was just seeing if I could cut some costs .

    Lots of opportunity to make them ride better off-road, especially depending on what combination of shocks you get. But some of it also depends on what you want to do. Can you share more info on what types of terrain and speed you're planning to do? Washboard? G-outs? Desert Pre-Running?

    I think a lot of people see what overland people do and mimic it, but if you're not carrying heavy weight you shouldn't get heavy springs...
    You should look at Deaver springs.
