Picked up a 2007 Chevrolet 3500 Dually Diesel Longbed LT in September of this year. Got it about a week before my birthday and made it my own present to myself. Found it on KSL after about 2 months of looking everywhere and having multiple trusted dealers hunting for me. Had the deal done within the next day and a half after I had found it.

From the get go, the plans for the truck were to make it a mobile welding office. Build it moderately enough to get me in tough places but while also keeping it reliable. Picked this year truck because it has the most aggressive motor and trans combo that was before the extensive emission laws were implemented. I pushed the Taco to the very edge of where I could work out of it and keep it a toy. But 1300 pound welders do not treat quarter ton pickups well. This allows me to further my career while also allowing me to keep the Toyota nice and drive-able with a third added benefit; a way to get home in the unfortunate circumstance that I break down in the Toyota. I've always worried about being stranded in my only mode of transport miles from home when something inevitably breaks. This just gives some peace of mind that I can limp it to the Duramax that can get us both home.
