They only suck because I don't have one. If I had one, they wouldn't suck anymore. :D

When you open the hood, do you see a brake master cylinder (the answer is yes)

Do you see a clutch master cylinder?

Unless the clutch is sharing the brake master, there is no way for the brakes to affect the clutch hydraulics.

    Like this guy says.

Then this 'off road shop' isn't much more than a bolt-on-some-stuff-we-ordered-last-week-shop. Axle seals are pretty rudimentary work. As is doing a full on rear brake job. Even if they only specialize in bolt on stuff and not actual repairs, I'm surprised they recommended a dealership over another local independent shop. Very unusual.

There is no adjustment for drums. It's the shoes that adjust. Which was redone when the new shoes were installed. (or should have been)

No shop worth spending money with will put on new shoes and not replace drums and hardware *if they need replacement*. Very few shops will even replace shoes w/o at least turning the drums.

Ebrakes/drum brakes are not complicated systems. It's really not magical to figure out where the problem is and either service the parts properly or replace them if needed.

Best wishes for a successful resolution.

They lied to you. If the adjusters were "maxed Out " the rear wheels would be locked up.

The adjustment procedure is to jack up the rear with the wheel off and lug nuts holding the drum on. Tighten the adjuster until the drum locks and cannot be turned. Loosen the adjuster 15 clicks. Repeat for the other side. Done.

i don't know if they would lie to me or not, its a hard one. they've been upfront with me everytime i go there. my dad does taxidermy work for two of the guys there and last time i spend money at this offroad shop i got a 300$ discount on suspension. They could have done the axle seals for me but knew i didn't want to wait a long time and sent me to a stealership to have it done quicker and more effecient. What shop does that? not many, a stealership would NEVER turn down money.
I'm almost POSITIVE that toyota only replaces the axle seals and shoes not the springs or wheel cylinders.
thanks for your replies, i hope you had a good Christmas!

LOLOLOL here i thought you had REAL complaints. Well i dont like the oil filter set up, the shitty tires that come on them, the high tech door locking shit with your thumb print, the lower torque numbers than the second gen and the fact i don't have one either! i like mine despite being 12 years old!
