Ok. I saw that under the carpet, I just had been told in the past that if you can, you shouldn’t use an existing ground because they may bring variables into the loop or interference.

I used the seat bolt to ground a 200w amp and it works just fine. If you’re going with something as big as a 1000w sub, there are a few threads here where people recommend grounding to the frame. I’d say your probably fine grounding from the seat bolt for an amp up to 500w? This is just a wild guess.

I have an Audio Control LC-6.1200 Amp, this amp has a built in line converter and includes a separate sub woofer control. My installer, tuned each speaker line and it sounds amazing. He installed Digital Design's top level components in the front and co axil 6.5 in the rear doors. Lastly, a Digital Design self contained 6.5 sub, which fits perfectly behind the rear seat. It sounds amazing, I use my Ipod for my music source.

Since I live on the Big Island of Hawaii, there is not much choice here for car audio. I think he gave me a fair deal. I would recommend him to anyone for upgrading their car stereo.

Does your amp have a built in LOC? Many amps have inputs for a high level signal from your speaker. That’s essentially what this harness is doing. If you have a LOC built in to your amp, might as well use it so you have one less point of failure.

This thread is 3 years old, but, that’s the harness I used. I cut off the LOC on that harness and ran wire back to my amp for speaker level inputs so I didn’t have to mess with the factory wiring at all.
