Yeah, that. I really wish I could land work as easy on the east side as I can here.

I'd be in Idaho or at least east of the Columbia if I could last year.

Price range is definitely a factor. I think just getting to know the areas and surrounding neighborhoods. Places like Tacoma to shy away from. Zillow is a deceiving thing when you see renovations and low numbers coupled with a couple quick google searches

I was told by a head hunter that woodinville is one of her favorite places in Washington, and she said east of Seattle is really beautiful. That being her opinion of course but woodinville seems (to say it nicely, way out of my price range) but honestly I moved from a very small beach community to suburbia and I don’t mind either, really just sick of NY and the east coast. I appreciate the feedback and I’ll definitely look at all of these. Thanks!

Each county has it's issues. You wanna buy a house and reside in King county, expect to get in a bidding wars over houses. Most have been going for over asking price for what reasons escape me. Maybe close to msft or Amazon and other high tech jobs. Pierce and Snohomish counties have more reasonable housing prices but you somewhat inherit meth/heroin issues with the cheaper style of life but compromise on drive time to your place of work. Ultimately if you have a career path that allows you to skip the bullshit and work from any location, take it.

It's not quite that bad. There's lots of places all over the seattle area where you can go from homeless camps to trader joes in about 3 blocks. It's hard to give you specific cities because of that.

Woodinville is great. Check out Snohomish/Monroe/Bothell for a cheaper but still nice place to be thats close to that area.

As long as you don't have to commute to Seattle, Tacoma isn't that bad, and it's gotten a lot better. The north end around UPS is pretty decent.

The housing market is crazy here right now. My neighbors will be moving next month. Are you looking to buy or rent? The rental market is a little ridiculous as well. Where will you be working potentially?

It would be a sales position but all the details of this company will be given to me tomorow with possibility of another. The headhunter just kept things confidential. I’ve never had a headhunter working for me but apparently I interview with her tomorrow first discuss my resume and drill down into my past performance and history. Assuming I’d be in product sales and traveling within a 100mile radius of Seattle with a territory. Definitely looking to buy something. I can’t see the rent thing with property tax being reasonable out there I can sell my house here and roll into something out there. But generally speaking I’m just getting my “lay of the land” from all you guys now

There were some reasonable prices up in the north west corner of Tacoma. All fully reno’d and very attractive. I’m flying wide open in terms of my location as I am going through the first of what I hope to be multiple opportunities.

only a New Yorker would consider our property taxes reasonable. What part of NY are you coming from?

I’m just going by the Zillow app and most property taxes are ranging from 2600/4K a year. I’m on Long Island about 45min from Manhattan and pay just shy of 13k a year in taxes
