    Hey Tacomaworld,

For the past couple of month’s I’ve been working on a grille for the Tacoma as side project that I think some of you might want to see.

So far I haven’t been too crazy about the grille options for Tacoma’s yet, as well as that everyone’s Tacoma has the same set up now. I wanted to build a grille to give Tacoma owners an additional option.

    Specs:

The grille is made out of (.120) ABS UV Resistant Plastic and comes in a smooth flat black texture. The grille does not include the Toyota Logo and is sold separately. However, the blank spot on the grille will fit both the Toyota Emblem as well as just a Toyota Sticker. The blank spot is (14.5' by 2.5' inches) so you are free to put whatever emblem or logo you desire.

    Installation

The installation of the grille is as simple as removing the original grill insert and replacing it with the new one, then reinstalling the trim piece. So the grille is held in place by the surrounding trim piece.

    Pre Ordering / Ordering:

I’ll be selling these grilles for $239 with free shipping to the mainland United States.

You can order them through my website www.xtecdesigns.com under the Products tab.

If you live outside of the mainland United States just feel free to either PM me or email me watki127@mail.chapman.edu because currently I can only set up free shipping free shipping to the mainland United States on my website.

    Ordering the Logo:
You can order the Emblem through:

That is awesome, I was opting towards a mesh. Not a fan of the pro, so this is a great alternative as well. Tough choice!

There is a potential solution for the TSS sensor that involves mounting the sensor to the mesh behind the grille.

Thanks! Any luck getting a pic of that sensor installed on the radiator? Some guys with 18’s might be okay just doing that as a solution to the tss sensor.

Man, I can snap a few pics. Been a crazy week, still haven't stopped to make the bracket, but I have made 2 separate 500 mile trips, both used cruise and headlight high beam sensor, the TSS is working flawless zip tied up for now...will post in morning.

I hear you man it's been a crazy week for me as well. I haven't had a chance to finalize the mounting bracket for the tss sensor. But when you get some pics post them up on the original thread too, https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/xtec-grille-insert-option.521061/

    thanks again.

In accordance with the "Chrome Reduction Act" of 2018 (pretty sure that's a real thing) I went ahead and changed out the trim ring to black. I'm now thinking less chrome the better.

Right now I'm getting pretty low on these grilles and only have a few left so I have them at a higher price until I can pool enough orders for a group buy to cover a new batch at a higher quantity to help lower prices.
