Just got mine in today. I'm relatively handy automotive-wise (change my oil, have done manifold gasket replacements, changed mufflers, starters, etc).

I started to remove the 4 bumper bolts today and got through one and that was a pain in the ass.

Thinking about having a shop do it. Haven't ever used a shop for this type of work. What type of shop installs such things? It's literally 4 bolts but they're a pain in the ass to get to and I don't own an impact wrench other than an impact driver.

    Thanks

You can get to them from the top reaching down behind the grill. It’s a pain but do-able.

The grill takes about 30 seconds to remove if that makes it easier

Thanks. Yep, I've taken it off to sand and paint it with the rustoleam bed liner spray.

I was just about to give up on the installation of mine as well. Then I tried using a pivoting ratchet wrench gearwrench-9702-main-sm.jpg (although I can't remember what size)
and it made it MUCH easier. It was still slow going but having the correct tool made all the difference.
Try it before you give up. Hope this helps.

    - I didn't remove the grille

Yep. I paid a small shop to do it today for $50 cash, but helped the guy most of the way to speed it along. Realize I need to get a set of those. My fixed ones would not do the job.

Cool - $50 ain't bad. Every time I work on the house or the truck I try to use it as an excuse to buy a new tool.

Please post socket size so I can go out and buy the one (or two) I need. Putting mine on was a B. I need to remove it and get it powdercoated, but the bolts are pretty seized up.

I know this is a bit old, but how do you like them? Do you have any pics? I'm thinking about getting a set front and rear. Your input is appreciated!
