Morning all. Not much going on today. I'll have to warm up the wood stove in the basement as the MIL is arriving today...

I still wear my safety toes, even if the hospital doesn't require them. They're comfortable with high ankle support. I do have sandles for the river:thumbsup: And my winter house shoes are Sorel inserts:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good morning. -14* at 9 AM. Was up smoking sliced ribeye and grilling shrimp until almost midnight last night. Way past my normal bedtime.

Needed to slice the ribeye roast thin to put on skewers so normally throw it in the freezer for an hour or so first to firm it up. Last night just sat it outside for an hour first LOL.

While I may have 3 new Miyabi knives I am not going to shun my slicing shun...

    Ribeye sliced.jpg

Left with 3 One and 3/4" thick ribeye steaks too.

Stacked with green peppers and sliced onions marinated in Dr. Pepper to make a huge ball of meat. Cooked directly over coals wanted to take it to 150 but after 3.5 hours in below zero weather 135 was good enough LOL. Will finish it off in the oven this morning but it already is fantastic and worth it.

What the hell as long as I was freezing my ass off did a couple pounds of shrimp marinated in soy and brown sugar on the charcoal grill too.

My son can't say there isn't anything to eat in the house now the fridge is full. And he has been making a dent in the leftover shrimp this morning already.

I just may have a pair of felt liners from a pair of LaCrosse boots around here that I do the same thing. Right down to the "fur" top. They also pick up dog hair better than packing tape :anonymous:

Canadian Sorel? Would have thought you would wear LaCrosse boots being in Wi. and all :p

Great right now taking it slow with them until I get the feel. There is almost no resistance when cutting and don't need to use much pressure. A totally different feel than what I am use to LOL. Can't imagine needing to sharpen them any more but that is what the manufacture says to do. On the other hand might just wait a bit... Very pleased!
