If you look on Google. Type in "Tacoma recall vin search" Type in your vin. It will tell you if you have any recalls that need to be done

    None as of yet
    Seriously?
search tool would help you with this one.

There have been at least two large ones. An engine sensor with too much goop or something on it and then differential leaks.

Truck cap , husky liners, deflector shield, ARE truck cap.
Visit Toyota.com and at the bottom of their home page there's a link to the recall page. Just ran my 2017 Tacoma and 2016 4Runner found no recalls.

Your dealer will check for recalls when you bring in for regular maintenance appointments. They get paid to perform the recall ser v ice.

You will find more Technical Service Bulletins than recalls. If your Taco is recalled you will receive a letter from Toyota, TSB do not trigger a notification and at lots of dealerships the service department won’t inform you of them. Before you go in, check for any applicable ones and ask them to perform them.

Transmission reflash is a TSB not a recall, there's a difference.

Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) provides recommendations / solutions to correct a symptom, they are not mandatory for all vehicles so you really can't demand a dealer perform a TSB unless you can show your truck demonstrates the deficiency.

A recall is mandatory replacement / repair regardless of whether the vehicle exhibits any symptoms, usually categorized by VIN or model years distinguishing what vehicles are affected.

    This one.

Search for your issue and if there is a TSB it will pop up. They usually include PDF instructions.

A lot of them are already "stickied" up top.

OK, I didn't know that, our service department will perform every campaign because they get paid for it. I didn't know about the tranny issue and was told about it on my 1st service. Thanks for the correction though, learn something new everyday! Cheers

What were the symptoms of low tranny fluid?
