just bought a 2005 tacoma trd V6 auto.
Has 200.000 miles on it, but it looks like it just hit 100k (its very clean in and out)
Oil looks a bit dark so im going to change the oil
Im guessing conventional 5w-30 will do?
Any tips or comments, should switch to full synthetic?
I do plan on changing the oil every 5k

I'd stick with conventional if you change it every 5k... Probably a good idea to use one of the high mileage formulation oils with your mileage.

Might be smart to also service the transmission, front and rear diffs, and transfer case. And you have 5 u-joints with zerks on your drive shaft, very important to pump some fresh grease into those too.

    Welcome

As others have said: change all oils. Good idea to go ahead and change your cabin and engine air filters, rotate tires, flush power steering and brake fluids as well. Start with a clean slate so you know exactly when all of the fluids need to be changed next.

The oil fill cap tells you the weight oil to use, assuming you have no owner manual.

Since it seems you have no service records, I'd gradually do all the fluids as others have said. It's called 'baselining' so you know exactly where your services stand in the future.

Changing at 5k is fine, but not worth running syn if you are. A high quality OTC dino will be just fine.

Mobile makes a 5w-30 high mileage conventional oil. Walmart sells it and it's very affordable by the jug.
