Looking for some input on a 110V Mig (Gas or Gasless) welder

    I'm looking to purchase this possibly.

    I would use it for projects as far as motorcycle and pickup fab work. But - My wife likes to build stuff with Bicycle parts. Gears/chains etc.

    So - It would be needed to tack some thinner metal together - maybe even galvanized steel.

    I used to weld but long ago so I am out of the loop. Just looking for some input. I like the price of the one on Amazon but know nothing about the brand. I've used Lincoln (long ago) but nothing else really.

    Any input is appreciated (Even if it's funny ;) )

    You know - I'm reading a lot of good stuff about that one in from the above post. I should probably actually work instead of reading this stuff on my work computer... nahhhhh... It's negative degrees outside right now I'm gonna mess around at work!

    custom car grill, KORE sliders, light bar, KORE bed bars w/ tire and high lift mount. MOBTOWN front IFS skid.
    Galvanized metal will have to have the zinc coating removed prior to welding. This machine looks like it will do gas or flux core wire. "Dust Cycle Percentage" Duty cycle perhaps? Made me giggle, sorry....

    I've used Lincoln diesel engine driven units to Miller 110v TIG machines. 90% is the arm.

    I read into this same topic a while back and found the 140 to be my best bet. Didn't end up buying one but still would like to. OP, keep an eye out on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. They pop up pretty often for a bargain alot of the times!

    Yes - I am in no hurry to get one just doing my research. I see some welders in my local area but none are Hobart. Harbor freight I believe has them.

    Look at Northern Tool for Hobart stuff. I got a refurbished unit from them for way cheaper than retail. 5 hard years on it and going strong now

    Amazon has the best deal. It is the same price as Northern Tool. I would think though - getting from Northern tool their support would be better if I get it through them. $489.00. Price has been that for quite some time now. Seems like a pretty good deal considering the cost of other welders. I have found quite a few good reviews on the Hobart 140 handler counting what people have told me on here. I do need it to weld some stuff onto my 1st gen Tacoma so I think this one is what I am after.
