Hi, everyone! I’m a first time Tacoma owner, and proud mama of a 2017 TRD Sport. I’ve wanted one of these trucks for the longest time, and couldn’t be happier! :yay:
I wanted to lift it, but was told that a leveling kit with some bigger tires could do for now. Any suggestions on kits, and what size tires? I love off roading and the whole scene, but am new to building my own rig. And direction on this will be very much appreciated :)
All I’ve done so far is swap out the grill for a pro grill, and add some red for looks. Here’s the before and after....

Correct Buy Once and Cry Once, talk to Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road she will set you straight. I would say start off with a minimum of Bilstein 5100's all around and maybe an AAL in the back.

I agree with @Unchained 5150. If you go look and drive with lifts then make your choice your the one that is doing it no one else this is your babby.

I agree with this. If your looking for a cheap but sturdy lift with minimal modification, I'd go with Bilstein 5100 shocks all the way around. A spacer or Add-A-Leaf (AAL) for the rear. If you stay on the road and don't plan on doing any crazy off roading, this will be more than sufficient. As for tires, you really can't go much bigger than stock without having to do some chopping. If your not going off road at all you can probably fit 275/70/17. But these might rub once you start flexing. Rumor is you can fit a 255/80/17 with no issues at all because it's a narrow tire, so even though it's a 33" tire because it's so narrow it will stay within the fender without rubbing

I'm a complete Mall Princess and probably have to much for suspension on mine. I have OME 887's on Bilstein 5100's up front. With JBA Standard High Caster UCA's up front. In the back I have ICON 2.0 Shocks, with the ICON 3 Leaf Progressive AAL.

Welcome, before you lift it TAKE IT THROUGH THE WOODS. Get to know some people in your area. Trail ride with them see how different set up works.than once you know what type of riding you will do is the best time to start deciding. But first put some real sliders on her.

    Otherwise lovely truck

Not a rumor. I ran 255/85/16s with just a 1.5" Icon lift without any rubbing on a wheeling trip. Some other guys are running that size stock without rubbing.
