I agree that their customer service sucks ass.

The cooler melting ice the first night I could only see happening if cooler and contents were warm before filling with ice.

The second night I think you're full of shit. Plenty of pictures in this thread that contradict what you're claiming.

I mean, if it isn't worth your time to document the faulty cooler, is it really that big of a deal?

I put a frozen gallon of water and a 20lb bag of ice in my 65qt and it had some form of frozen water in it for about 5 or 6 days... So :hattip:

I was in on this buy from the beginning and I've also posted that my 65 cooler won't keep ice for 24 hours. Some of them are really faulty. Not sure what all the bitchiness is about. But whatever makes you feel good. And yes, I've emailed Frosty, been promised a new gasket, I've followed up twice to find out where it is, yet nothing.

And before you ask, all contents were cold and the cooler pre-cooled for 24 hours. *thumbs up*

    You must be new here

Just seems so strange to have that big of a difference in quality. Is there really literally zero quality control?

I could believe it. I'm not knocking @TacoTRD78, but you get what you pay for. I bought this cooler with the expectations of a company that makes coolers *similar* to those of RTIC and Ozark but for much much less. I never once bought it thinking I was paying $160 for a $400 cooler.

That being said yes, the customer service can be lacking, yes in some instances a new gasket has been needed, and yes, its not a Yeti. I think most of the backlash was because he's throwing shade and unwilling to back it up whereas there have been plenty of people posting positive reviews. :notsure: Either way, hope those of you who are unhappy get some resolution :drunk:

i put a few gallons of water in mine, tilted it on it's sides. on the ends, no water leaked out but on both the front and back side the water came out pretty fast. there is a large enough gap in the seal for insects to crawl into it when it's closed.

i wasn't expecting performance like an RTIC, but MY Frosty [not speaking for any other Frosty, just my Frosty, it's the only Frosty i've used] is really not that much better than a ordinary igloo or the like. I know it seems completely unthinkable, but the evidence seems to indicate that not 100% of their product is defect-free.

Finally got my replacement gasket from Frosty, but not sure it's actually larger. Won't be able to check until later this week. If not larger, other than maybe not being able to close the lid, do you see issue with installing on top of what's already in there?

I, as well as someone else in this thread, installed the strip that's in the products discussed below. Seals better but haven't got that vacuum effect yet.

I also finally got my replacement gasket. The gasket was mailed with less than 1/2 the required postage so I had to pay to receive it - it wasn't much money but just mentioned as another indication of customer service issues. The replacement is thicker than the original, I have not had a chance to test it out yet but I expect it WILL improve performance (the last time I went camping with my frosty using the original gasket, all ice melted within 24 hours).

I think I was the first to receive a replacement gasket and to me it didn't look any thicker than the stock gasket o_O

So, I installed the new gasket on top of the old one and then threw a ratchet strap over the cooler and compressed the shit out of it for 24 hours.

It worked ok....it vacuum seals and doesn't leak water however you can definitely tell the gasket is thicker than it should be.

I was wondering the same thing. Couldn't see it on the website but I can't imagine it's more than 1 gal., probably 1/2 gal. I've been using gallon jugs of drinking water frozen and 1L Smartwater bottles and have been happy with that system.
