I haven't looked a ton yet but SPC's are $366 from Headatrong when added to the lift kit I'm planning on. JBAs are $450. I'm all for better deals, if you have some leads, please share!

Ahhh, I see that now. I was pricing out buying it separately, in which case the JBA is about $20 cheaper.

I am on my 4th set of SPC's in 5 years. Atleast their warranty is simple.

Do you change them every time you change your cabin air filter? lol. That sounds like a nightmare.

This exactly. I've had negative camber issues the entire time I've lifted my truck. I preset my camber with the SPC UCAs and the shop was able to dial it almost down to completely zero while maintaining decent caster.

Just make sure you tighten that bolt real tight. Mine came lose once because I didn't tighten it all the way and hit a pot hole. :annoyed:

There are some group buy deals for these every once in a while or some vendors will hook you up if you're a repeat customer...

I've had my SPCs for 2.5 years now and one of the ball joints just went. Only 20k miles on them. I've read much into the great warranty and customer service that SPC has and emailed them about the issue. A buddy if mine has the JBAs and have no issues with them.

I am hearing alot of people having to replace ball joints on the SPC's, I just recently put a set of them on my rig. has the ball joint failure been resolved with newer versions or was there no changes and one can expect failure even with consistent maintenance?

The new balljoints have grease fittings and if greased correctly they should fail less.

Sounds good I have the new version and grease them every 3k and check them after a offroad run.

Well that didn't take long. Tom from SPC was very helpful in getting a new pair of upgraded ball joints with the zerks shipped out to me. I just have to return the old ones afterwards to get my core charge refunded.

I had the SPC and loved them. Went through 2 sets of balljoints over 120,000 km and just replaced again with the 3rd set which were greasable when i totalled the truck. Hit a jeep head on at highway speeds, with our front right wheels colliding. Needless to say every single suspension component on my truck was torn off. LCA torn in half, ome shock shaft and coil broken, swaybar links broken, and the SPC UCA also broke, but the adjustable balljoint did not budge; they only snapped in one location, about 3 inches from the balljoint... i’m still waiting for pictures from my insurance company and will post them. Even my front cab mount was almost torn off the frame...

Just got my jba’s yesterday, haven’t installed them but man are they beefy. Extremely simple and I really enjoy the fact that they use gm ball joints and are easily changeable. I’ll probably update this next week after they’re installed and I’ve had an alignment.. hopefully my cams aren’t seized.

How is the caster on the JBA with a mild lift? I have fox 2.5s in order for my 2017 and won’t be lifting it beyond the preset height. I read some issues with too much caster on mild lifts? The shop told me that I need UCAs for my extended coils, the body won’t fit stock UCAs without hitting. I need to be within stock specs to be road leagal here.

I’m reviving this thread because I’m in the same debate - JBA’s vs SPC. I have a 2009 TRD off-road with the OME 2” lift bought from Wheelers.

By now I know at least the SPCs have been refined and the JBAs have a cerakote ball joint. But the pricing is way high now it seems. SPC are $523 on Amazon ($650 from Headstrong) and JBA is $450 from their website. I don’t think I need the extra adjustment of SOC and that JBA red might look sharp on my Barcelona Red truck.

Also In looking to replace my LCAs because they’re over 11 years old factory and my bushings are worn, causing cupping on the new tires. Several shops told me this. What would you suggest? I’m thinking Moog for the bushings and greaseable ball? Some say Toyota OEM.

    What say you? Thanks!

I have a guy that said he’d ship me his 2015 OEM LCAs that have 1500 miles on them before he installed a long travel kit. If the price is right, think that’d be good?

1,500 miles? Or 15,000 miles? Both are extremely low for a 2015 so I'd be leery of authenticity. A pic of the odometer would be nice. Parts like that are hit or miss because you don't know the life they lived. Those could have been some real rough miles. Especially if the guy is going long travel. Maybe he rides his truck hard. Something to think about.
