Good to know about the exhaust bolts, I'll be using those next time I mount the tent. I bent the flat plates under my round crossbars, but there were no issues.

Wife and I just spend Christmas in our SB RTT in the Ozark National Forest. We wore light thermals under our PJs and had a 0* double bag and inside that we both had our own 30* bags. We stayed nice and warm. There was some condensation in the tent though and we woke up to ice on the outside of the tent. (Weather said 23*, "feels like" 14*).

I need a bit of advice when it comes to storing my Tepui soft shell tent over the winter. I took my tent off for the CO winter at the end of October and put it under my deck. (No space in the garage at the moment) The tent isn't getting snowed on or sitting around uncovered, but some snowmelt does come and land on the cover. My biggest concern is that my tent sitting outside over the winter will gather condensation or even something that I may not be aware of. I do not have a condensation mat. Do I have anything to be worried about? I did put the tent away dry.

Yeah, I'll have to check it from time to time to make sure it doesn't become someone else's home. And it's sitting on my RCI bed rack so there is plenty of space between it and the ground for airflow.

Hi all, I just bought a RTT but my OCD in color coordination for my truck is making me dislike my cover. Tent closed up is 48x48 and I'm looking for a cover in black or tan without logos. Any suggestions?

Okay. Looked through several hundred pages and ordered a Smittybilt Overlander 2783 and awning. It was a good price with free shipping! Canada eh$$$ My question to my Tacomaworld friends is: install on my leer 100r cap (it is rated to 150 lbs moving?) or weld up a bedrack for it. I like the dry space of the canopy, but will the 100r be up to the taks? Anyone have a leer 100r with a rtt on it? Looking forward to getting out next week in the snow - yipee. Cheers

Well, I found a friend who loves to weld - so bed rack it is! Will post pictures tomorrow when done. Cheers

What is everyone using for mounting their tents? I tried to buy bed rails from a few places but the backorder is crazy, I don't want to wait 10 weeks for them. Thinking about just calling a local metal fab guy to make some, but want to get some other ideas. My tent came yesterday and i want to set it up asap!

I have an RCI bed rack and love it. Their lead time is only 2-3 weeks according to the website but has been shorter for me before. It may be worth a call to them to see if they have any in stock.

Here is the bed rack I made. $180 including the welding! I just need to clean them up and paint them.

    Cheers

My tent is just a plan black cover. No logo.

Seems kinda pricey. I made mine just like that, with smaller beams though, for about $40. Guess it pays to know someone in the metal field.

Bottle of Jack Daniels to the welder, paint and the steel - adds up quick. Also, Canadian prices too my friend. Everything seems more expensive here, hence why I didn't buy a premade bedrack. Cheers

Any of y'all take your rigs with Rtt through a touchless carwash?

I'm running CBI overland bed bars, I like the height and the fact that you can through bolt to them instead of the little plate underneath a tube deal. As far as I know they have them in stock all the time too.

All summer long, couple times a week. No problems, no issues. The kids at the car wash know me now and are good about pre-spraying around it and also cleaning the swing-out mounted spare. A couple of the kids who really dig the truck override whatever I paid for and send me through with their top dog super awesome wash.

On the team now. Got this mounted yesterday and slept in it last night. It was sub 30 but the sleeping bags kept me warm. Pretty stoked to be a part of the club. Have since run a bungee from the grommet by the window closest to the cab to my ditch light bracket so that window is fully up.

Excited to be part of the club! Just waiting about a week or two for my rack and it'll be official!

Scored a Kukenam XL Ruggedized for an AMAZING price at REI, unfortunately they did not come with the window/rainfly tension poles. Anybody gotta any spares by any chance before I place the order through Tepui?
